Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in particular, have appeared in numerous international productions. Bachchan appeared in Mistress of Spices, Bride and Prejudice, and Pink Panther, while Jonas appeared in Baywatch, Isn’t It Romantic, and the television series Quantico. However, several well-known Bollywood faces are lined up in international movies that will release in 2023.

5 Indian Actors’ Upcoming International Projects

1. Samantha Ruth Prabhu

In Arrangements of Love, Samantha Ruth Prabhu will make her big Hollywood debut as a bisexual Tamil woman running a detective agency. The story film, which is directed by Philip John, who also directed Downtown Abbey, is about a Welsh-Indian man who travels to his home country in search of his estranged father. Timeri N. Murari’s book of the same name is the basis for the film.

“As a huge Downton Abbey fan, I am thrilled to collaborate with Philip John, whose projects I have followed closely for many years. It will be both a challenge and a chance for me to play the complex character in my role. I can hardly hold on to get on set,” Prabhu told Variety.

2. Hrithik Roshan

According to multiple reports, Hrithik Roshan’s debut Bollywood project, an American spy thriller, was reportedly signed with the Gersh agency in the US last year. However, the remaining information is still unknown. Roshan’s next domestic role will be in the action film Fighter (2024) by Siddharth Anand, which also stars Deepika Padukone and Anil Kapoor.

3. Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who has previously appeared in a number of Western films and television shows, will next be witnessed in Amazon Prime Video’s Citadel, for which the filming process has already been completed. Citadel is an American science fiction television series Patrick Moran and the Russo brothers created. It is described as an “action-packed spy series with a compelling emotional center.” There will also be an Indian part of the movie with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Prabhu.

4. Alia Bhatt

In Netflix’s Heart of Stone, which is anticipated to be released in August 2023, Alia Bhatt will make her Hollywood debut alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, the Fifty Shades of Grey actor. In September of last year, Netflix released a first-look teaser for the spy thriller. In it, Bhatt says that the movie has “characters that you relate with and feel for.”

The production of Heart of Stone, which British filmmaker Tom Harper directed, began in March 2022. The film likewise stars Sophie Okonedo, Jing Lusi, Paul Prepared, and Matthias Schweighöfer. Other than the fact that Gadot will be playing an intelligence agent, not much is revealed about the plot.

5. Sobhita Dhulipala

Dev Patel’s action-thriller Monkey Man will be Sobhita Dhulipala’s Hollywood debut. She last appeared in Ponniyin Selvan 1. The movie’s production has already been completed, and post-production is currently underway.

“I had auditioned for it nearly five years ago, and I received a call in the days for a screen test with Dev.” It was the day I was departing for the Cannes Film Festival with my first movie, Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016), as I recall it. “Seamed as we belonged with each other all along, all these years after, and many turns in the journey of the film and our individual lives later,” Dhulipala stated to India Today in 2021.

Monkey Man is about a man who was once held captive and who is unable to adapt to a world where corporate greed rules. Dhulipala’s role in the movie is unknown at this time. Dev Patel, a Slumdog Millionaire actor, makes his directorial debut with Monkey Man.

With their exceptional skills and dedication, these actors are paving the way for greater representation and diversity in the entertainment industry and proving that talent and hard work know no bounds. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for these extraordinary Indian actors on the international stage.
