Laal Singh Chaddha was undoubtedly one of the highest anticipated movies of Bollywood in the last few years. The film was finally released on 12 August 2022 to a cold response at the box office. It stars Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the leading roles. The film was made with a whopping budget of 180 Crore INR, and could not even collect a total of 60 Crores.
Laal Singh Chaddha is directed by Advait Chandan, and it also stars Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh in pivotal roles. It was shot at more than a hundred locations and a lot of hard work and dedication was put into the making of this film. It is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, featuring Tom Hanks.
Reportedly the film’s producers Viacom 18 blamed Aamir Khan for the film’s failure at the box office. And amid the clash and blame game, a new update has revealed that Aamir Khan has decided to not charge even a single penny for his acting in the film.
A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, “If Aamir Khan decides to charge his acting fees, Viacom 18 Studios would have entailed losses of nearly Rs. 100 crores. However, that loss is something that Aamir Khan has decided to absorb himself. Now, the producer will lose nominal money.”
He then also added, “He gave four years to the film but has not made a single penny from it. His opportunity cost on Laal Singh Chaddha is upwards of Rs. 100 crores, but he has decided to absorb all the losses taking the complete blame of failure on himself.”
Aamir Khan has decided to give up his entire fees for acting in Laal Singh Chaddha. Aamir’s decision has shifted all the loss from the producers to him personally. He has taken the blame for the poor performance of the film.
Aamir Khan’s fans are overwhelmed and equally emotional about the superstar’s decision. Moreover, after Laal Singh Chaddha failed miserably at the box office, Aamir Khan decided to take a break from everything.
He is currently in the USA spending time off from everything else and only with his family.
