AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal Praises Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann For Action Against Corruption

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s action on corruption accused minister Vijay Singla, now dismissed, is seen as the biggest message to the whole state about the ZERO tolerance policy of the AAP govt against corruption. On Mann’s action, AAP national convener and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has lauded him for sacking state health and family welfare minister Vijay Singla on charges of corruption. Arvind Kejriwal tweeted: “Proud of you, Bhagwant. Your action has brought tears to my eyes. Whole nation today feels proud of AAP.”

In a video message released on social media, Kejriwal said no one knew about this corruption, neither the media nor the opposition and had Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann wanted he would have asked for a slice of it with a “setting”. But, Mann on his own took action against the minister. This has proved that our party is the only political outfit in the country which can provide an honest government and is ‘deshbhakt’. “We will not watch our Bharat Mata get insulted and cheated by these criminals. We will lay our lives down, but not tolerate any kind of treason. We will not betray our nation, nor will we let anyone do so. AAP has begun the revolution of honesty to develop a thriving & prosperous India. AAP has proven that parties and governments can be run with honesty and without corruption,” said the AAP convenor Kejriwal.

Taking a dig on the other political parties, Kejriwal said that all other parties uses to have a “setting” within till now and they did not take action against each other’s leaders, let alone catch their own ministers. It is the first time that a party has taken action against its own minister. “Opposition does not know what to say and how to oppose. So they are saying that within two months our ministers are involved in corruption. The opposition has nothing to say.” said Kejriwal.

“In 2015, when the AAP government was formed in Delhi, I even took similar action against the then food and civil supplies minister as soon as I received a corruption complaint against him. AAP is a hardcore sincere party. We do not spare anyone,” he further added.

Vijay Singla, who was Punjab’s Health Minister, was arrested soon after his sacking. He is accused of demanding a one per cent bribe to clear contracts.
