Pakistani Cricketer Abdul Razzaq Apologizes For Derogatory Remarks On Aishwarya Rai

Former star all-rounder of Pakistan cricket team Abdul Razzaq created a big controversy. He insulted Indian actress Aishwarya Rai while criticizing the performance of Babar Azam’s team in the World Cup 2023. Razzaq’s statement created a big storm on social media.

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afreedi also objected to Razzaq’s behaviour. Now Razzaq has apologized on this in a video which is getting viral on the internet.

In the video he said, “We were talking about cricket coaching and intentions. Meri zubaan fisal gai (I had a slip of the tongue) and mistakenly took Aishwarya Rai’s name. I should have given some other example but said that by mistake. I apologise to her personally. I did not intend to hurt anyone’s sentiment.”

What did Abdul Razzaq Say?

After the early exit of the Pakistan cricket team from the ICC World Cup, Razzaq was pointing fingers at the Pakistan Cricket Board and while doing that he ended up giving a wrong example. He said, “Younis Khan had good intentions as a captain and it gave me confidence to perform better. Everyone over here is talking about the intention and Pakistan’s team. Actually, we don’t have good intentions to develop and polish players in Pakistan. If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai, a good and pious kid would be born, it would never happen.”
