Afghanistan: Terrorists Attack A Gurudwara In Kabul, 2 People Dead

Gurudwara Karte Parwan Sahib in Afghanistan’s Kabul has been attacked by some terrorists, in which, a muslim security guard and a civilian have been killed. “At least 2 killed in attack at gurudwara in Afghanistan’s Kabul,” quoted by news agency ANI on its official Twitter handle.

As per the media reports, two ISIS terrorists entered Gurudwara Karte Parwan Sahib in Kabul and started firing, in which, 2 causalities have been reported, which 8 devotees were trapped in the Gurudwara. Reportedly, at the time of attack, around 25 to 30 Sikhs and Afghani Hindus were inside the Gurudwara, amongst which, around 15 somehow managed to run away.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has condemned the incident. In a tweet, CM Mann quoted:

“Strongly condemn the attack at Gurudwara Karte Parwan in Kabul. Have heard reports of shots being fired at devotees, I’m praying for everyone’s safety. I urge PM @narendramodi ji and @MEAIndia for immediate assistance to ensure the safety of minorities in Kabul.”

On the same matter, Dr. S Jaishankar, the Union minister of External Affairs, tweeted:

“The cowardly attack on Gurudwara Karte Parwan should be condemned in the strongest terms by all. We have been closely monitoring developments since the news of the attack was received. Our first and foremost concern is for the welfare of the community.”

The terrorists entered the Gurudwara at around 8:30 AM IST after killing the security guard, followed by an explosion at the gate of the Gurudwara. Though all the suspected ISIS terrorists have been neutralised by the Afghan soldiers and the place has been secured. As per the Afghani media, the situation has been monitored and is under control now.
