The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services Department responded swiftly, deploying over five fire engines from various city divisions. “A team of over five fire vehicles from various city divisions has reached the location. Fire control measures are being carried out as a precaution,” a senior official stated.
Residents in the Meghaninagar area said they heard three loud explosions followed by visible smoke rising from the crash site. Roads leading to the airport have since been closed for public movement to allow rescue and emergency services to operate freely.
The cause of the crash and the extent of damage to the aircraft are yet to be officially determined. The airport authorities have launched an internal investigation, while a technical team continues to assess the situation. Updates from Air India and DGCA are awaited.
