Actress and producer Twinkle Khanna shared a throwback video in which she is telling about the first choice for Laxmikant (lead role) was not Akshay. She had some other name in her mind for the lead role. She even spoke about the story of how director R Balki insists her to take the actor in the lead role. Basically, in the video she is playing a quiz where the question asked is, Was Akshay the first choice for the role, to which she answered No, and tell the whole story behind that even she also praised her husband for the role of Laxmikant.
