Friday was a day full of ups and downs for Telugu superstar and National Award winner Allu Arjun. He was arrested by Hyderabad Police in connection with the death of a woman in a stampede at the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2’ on December 4. Soon after the incident, a court sent the actor to 14-day judicial custody. However, by the evening he got interim bail. However, during the interim bail hearing in the Telangana High Court, Allu Arjun’s lawyer had mentioned the train accident that happened with Shah Rukh Khan and him in 2017 in his argument.
In fact, in January 2017, for the promotion of his film ‘Raees’, superstar Shah Rukh Khan decided to travel by an express train. When the train reached Vadodara station, a crowd of more than 1000 people gathered at the station, causing a stampede. This led to the death of one person and many people were injured. A complaint was filed against Shah Rukh Khan, stating that he was responsible for the stampede as he threw T-shirts and smiley balls at the crowd. The Gujarat High Court dismissed the complaint filed against Shah Rukh Khan for the stampede. While one person died and several others were injured. Later, the Supreme Court upheld the High Court order.
Allu Arjun’s lawyer used this case to strengthen his argument in the court as it is similar to the case of the Telugu superstar. The defense insisted that Shah Rukh Khan was not held responsible for the stampede. He was acquitted by the court. Despite this, he had directly interacted with the crowd and threw items, which allegedly caused chaos. At the same time, Allu Arjun’s lawyer argued in the court that the actor did not even meet the crowd during the Sandhya Theater incident.
Allu Arjun’s lawyer S Niranjan Reddy argued that the actor cannot be held responsible for the stampede. He also told the court that the theater manager and the makers had already informed the police about Allu Arjun’s visit. At the same time, the public prosecutor argued to the court that Allu Arjun visited the theater despite the request of the police and there was a possibility of a huge crowd there. At the same time, the police also said that the woman died due to the actions of the actor.
