Ammy Virk, undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the Punjabi music as well as film industry, has been a victim of public backlash lately. Despite constant support from the industry, he’s been accused by the public of working with anti-farmer companies and people. These companies and certain celebrities are considered to possess anti-farmer sentiments, by the people.
The singer-actor has been quiet for the most part on the topic and did not react to it. But for the first time ever, he’s finally spoken up. While you would expect an actor to be praised for making it to Bollywood from regional film industry, Ammy was subjected to hate and criticism for the same. He debuted as an actor in Bollywood with the recent release ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’.
Countering all the hate comments, Ammy Virk replied that he hasn’t done a crime by working in Bollywood. He’s been in the industry for over a decade and there is always a section of people who would hate you, no matter what. He said that why does he deserve to be called a ‘traitor’ and similar words? He’s only done a film. He’s doing his job, nothing else.
He added that he did Filhaal 2 and Bhuj movie, for which he was criticised. Calling him people’s own son, he said that why would he do something that would turn out to be harmful for his own people. He only did Filhaal 2 for his brothers Jaani and B Praak. Bhuj has been ready with the makers for the past 2 years, it is an old project and Ammy did it because he felt proud as it was his debut in Bollywood.
Further adding, he said that he did not share Filhaal 2 on his social media just because it wasn’t necessary. He had to share Bhuj’s trailer and the movie just because it was necessary for him and for his career.
Ammy Virk has spoken up openly on the issue after a long time. A specific part of the audience had been criticising the artist for long and Ammy has cleared his stance on the issue!
