Ankit Gupta and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary recently unfollowed each other on Instagram, fueling speculation about their rumored breakup. While Ankit chose not to comment on the matter in an exclusive chat with India Forums, his decision to step away from the much-anticipated show Terre Hojayein Hum, where he was set to reunite with Priyanka, has only intensified the rumors.
Now, Ankit has officially confirmed withdrawing from the project. In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the Maati Se Bandhi Dor actor explained that he is currently not in the right frame of mind for the show. “Yes, I have decided to back out of the project with Ravie and Sargun. Right now, I don’t think I can commit to it. I feel like I need some time to recharge and focus on myself,” he shared.
Ankit also revealed that he declined an offer for Khatron Ke Khiladi 15, admitting that he should have waited before taking on Bigg Boss. Reflecting on his past decisions, he shared, “After wrapping up Udaariyaan, I signed Junooniyatt before entering Bigg Boss. At that point, I had two choices—take a short-term project or travel. But I was in a mindset where I just wanted to keep working. Colors was keen on having me on Bigg Boss, so I went for it.”
Looking back, Ankit feels he should have given himself more time before stepping into reality shows. “Maybe I should have waited a couple more years. That’s why I’m not very inclined to do Khatron Ke Khiladi this year, despite having discussions with the team. For the first time, I just don’t feel like doing it. I need a break—mentally, physically, and emotionally. Shows like Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi happen once in a lifetime, and I want to give my best when I do them,” he concluded.
His exit from the project has only added to ongoing speculation regarding his relationship with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary.
