Anurag Kashyap is surely one of the finest directors in the Bollywood Film Industry. The man excels in his craft and has used the same to helm amazing and acclaimed projects like Gangs Of Wasseypur 1 & 2, Lust Stories & more. And one of his much-appreciated projects includes Manmarziyaan too.
Manmarziyaan featured Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu and Abhishek Bachchan in the leading roles. The film was released in 2018 and did average at the box office. But some of its songs are highly appreciated and loved by the fans even today. Amit Trivedi was the man behind the great playlist of the film.

But do you know, there was something that landed Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi in a challenge during the making of this film’s music? Yes, it’s right and we are talking about Ammy Virk’s superhit song Qismat.
Basically, highly impressed with the song Qismat, Anurag Kashyap strongly wanted to keep the song in his film Manmarziyaan. He believed the song was a perfect fit for the break-up situation between Rumi (Taapsee Pannu) and Vicky (Vicky Kaushal) in the film.
But he knew Amit Trivedi would never agree to keep a song of another producer in his film. So, he thought of a fun plan. Anurag reached out to Amit Tridevi and told him that he is impressed with Ammy Virk’s song Qismat and he has made up his mind that he will keep the song in his film.

This irritated Amit, as expected, and the music director furiously refused to agree to it. And to this, Anurag challenged him to make a better song than Ammy Virk’s Qismat, or else he will keep Qismat in Manmarziyaan.
And do you know what was the result of this fun and open challenge between Anurag Kashyap and Amit Trivedi? It was the superhit and everyone’s all-time favorite track Daryaa. The song is one of the best songs made in Bollywood lately and you’ll be happy to know Ammy Virk gave voice to it.
While describing the same in an Interview, Anurag Kashyap quoted, ‘Maine usko (Amit Trivedi) Ungli Ki Thi.. Maine Use Kaha Isse Achha Gaana Bana Sakta Hai Toh Bana De, Nahi Toh Main Yeh Use Kar Raha Hoon..’

Not only this, Anurag Kashyap also revealed that he along with the entire team of Manmarziyaan used to listen to Ammy Virk’s song Qismat and Sidhu Moosewala’s song on the shooting sets.
