Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party, the West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee asserted that the saffron party is using black money and central agencies to topple the non-BJP state governments.
After senior TMC ministers Partha Chatterjee and Anubrata Mondal’s arrest in the school jobs scam and cattle smuggling case, the BJP has been alleging CM Mamata Banerjee of promoting corruption in the state. “Arrest me if you can,” she further said, challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party.
While addressing a rally of the student wing of All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC), party chief and CM Mamata Banerjee said that the BJP is running a campaign to defame the TMC and portray the party and its leaders as “thieves” and the BJP leaders as crystal clear. “Had I not been into politics, I would have torn out their tongues,” said Mamata Banerjee.
She further blamed the BJP for misusing the Central agencies to muzzle the voices of the opposition parties and topple the non-BJP state governments, adding that the BJP leaders have been given thousands of crores to dislodge the democratically elected governments on the lines of its Maharashtra model.
She even accused the saffron party of using “hawala” to park its black money overseas. “The Bharatiya Janata Party is trying to scare the media, its political opponents as well as the judiciary and using the “Pegasus” software to take away the liberty of the people.
Yesterday, a video of TMC MLA and senior minister Srikanta Mahato went viral, where he was blaming the party leadership for favouring the people from the entertainment industry who have been looting the party and that the party is ignoring its honest workers. Since this video went viral, the BJP has been continuously slamming the TMC and its government.
