Arrest Warrant Against Ekta Kapoor & Mom For Insulting Soldiers In Web Series XXX

Producer Ekta Kapoor is an extremely popular name when it comes to Indian Entertainment Industry. Not only is she the queen of dramatic and popular daily soaps, but also runs OTT Platform Alt Balaji. But currently, she has been involved in unwanted legal controversy.

And not only Ekta Kapoor but her mother Shobha Kapoor’s name is also included in this legal trouble. Bihar court has issued arrest warrants for the ladies regarding the web series XXX on Alt Balaji.

The warrants have been issued against Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor for allegedly insulting soldiers and hurting the sentiments of their families in a web series, PTI reported.

Let us inform you, all this is about XXX 2, Ekta’s web series on Alt Balaji. In the episode ‘Pyaar Aur Plastic’, the wife of a soldier is seen cheating when the soldier is off for his duty on the border. His wife with her boyfriend is seen disrespecting the uniform during a lovemaking scene between them.

This scene disappointed various people and ignited a massive outrage among the public. Various people took it to social media and expressed their anger over the same. In fact, popular social media influencer Hindustani Bhau had also raised his voice against the same in various now-deleted Instagram videos.

Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Begusarai, said in his complaint in 2020, that the web series had several objectionable scenes related to a soldier’s wife.

Speaking to PTI, Kumar’s advocate Hrishikesh Pathak said that the web series was aired on ALT Balaji, an over-the-top platform owned by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Limited. Shobha Kapoor is also associated with Balaji Telefilms. He also informed that summons had been issued and the court asked the Kapoors to appear before it in connection with the matter.

“They (Ekta and Shobha Kapoor), however, informed the court that certain scenes in the series were removed after the objection. But they did not appear before the court following which the warrant was issued against them,” Pathak said.

For now, there have been no official comments, statements or clarification addressing the controversy and arrest warrants made public by Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor.
