‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been in the news for some time now. It has been accused of actors leaving the show midway, makers not paying dues and mental harassment on the set. However, Asit Modi has denied these allegations. Now once again a similar issue arose, when Gurcharan Singh accused Asit Modi of stopping payment. The actor is currently hospitalized. At the same time, the producer has reacted.
The show’s producer Asit Modi, in a conversation with ‘Times of India’, has told the real reason for Gurucharan’s exit from the show. He said that he and Gurucharan have a close relationship and his family also loves him very much. He said, ‘Gurucharan is a very good person and I am very emotionally connected to him. My wife and children love and respect him.’
Asit Modi further said, ‘He was going through many problems in between and I just pray for him that he comes out of difficult times.’ The producer further revealed that Gurucharan left the show on his own and it was his personal decision, ‘He decided to leave the show on his own. It was his decision, we never asked him to leave. He also feels now that he should have been a part of the show and he likes the show.’
Asit Modi further added, ‘TMKOC has completed 16 years and people have their own personal reasons to leave the show and you can’t expect someone to be a part of your show forever. Still most of the actors have been associated with TMKOC and that is a great achievement. It is a daily show.’
Asit Kumar Modi explained how TMKOC has become an emotion for people, ‘People have given immense love to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. This show is above everything now, it is not a money making machine, it has become an emotion. Whoever is associated with the show has done only good in their life. People have changed even in appearance, the kids who joined the show have grown up now. I used to ask and scold them when they were kids whether they were studying well.
