Avneet Kaur Recalls Childhood Ordeal: Facing Inappropriate Touch and Harsh Words on Set

Avneet Kaur, a renowned actress, dancer, and social media star, has made a significant mark in the entertainment world. From her early days as a child artist to gracing the red carpet at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival for Love in Vietnam, her journey has been remarkable. However, success hasn’t come without hardships.

In a candid conversation with Hauterrfly, Avneet reflected on a distressing experience from her childhood, revealing that she encountered inappropriate behavior on set at just eight years old.

Recalling a moment from her early career, Avneet shared that she first experienced inappropriate behavior during a dance rehearsal. “Someone touched me in a way that didn’t feel right. I immediately told my mother about it, and she explained the difference between a ‘good touch’ and a ‘bad touch.’ She made me understand that such things happen and that I need to be aware.” She added that this lesson stayed with her, helping her recognize and navigate uncomfortable situations from a young age.

Avneet admitted that, over time, she learned to deal with such challenges, as they are unfortunately common in the industry. She also recalled facing emotional abuse on set. As a child actor, she was once assigned a complex monologue for a TV show. After fumbling a few lines, the director lashed out at her with harsh words, shaking her confidence. Since parents were not allowed on set, she had to endure such treatment alone.

Despite these hardships, Avneet has emerged stronger. From her Bollywood debut in Tiku Weds Sheru with Nawazuddin Siddiqui to her growing presence in cinema, she continues to shine, proving that resilience and talent can overcome even the toughest obstacles.
