Ayan Mukerji Announces The Release of Upcoming Brahmastra Part 2 & 3

Following the box office success of “Brahmastra Part One: Shiva,” director Ayan Mukerji has now revealed the release date for “Brahmastra Part 2: Dev” and “Brahmastra Part 3,” both of which are set to come out in 2026 and 2027, respectively. On Tuesday morning, the director provided an update on the Brahmastra trilogy through a recent Instagram post. 

Ayan made the announcement and shared a post he had written on Instagram.

He penned: Hi…The Time has come – for some updates on the Brahmastra Trilogy, the Astraverse, and my Life! After absorbing all the love and the feedback on Part One… I have been focused on creating the Vision for Part Two and Part Three -which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One! I have learnt that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra Two and Three.

Ayan further added, “And…I have decided that we are going to make the two films… Together! Allowing them to also release closer together! I have a timeline in place to achieve this, which I am sharing with you all today! 

Ayan Mukerji also revealed in his extensive statement that he has another project in the lineup. Without sharing much details, he wrote: “I also have another piece of news to share…The universe has presented we with a very special opportunity recently – a very special movie – to step into and direct. What the movie is…More on that when the time is right. An opportunity that challenges me and terribly excites me…One where I will learn, be inspired, and where I will grow. So, I have decided to take it up.”

He concluded by writing,” Opening myself up to all the positive energies in this universe so I can do my best and contribute to that one thing that matters the most to me- Indian Cinema.


In the meantime, Bollywood trade analyst Tara Adarsh tweeted that Yash Raj Films has signed Ayan Mukerji to direct War 2. Moreover, Hrithik Roshan has confirmed that Ayan Mukerji will direct War 2 for YRF. It is the 7th film in the YRF Spy Universe, which will come out after Tiger 3, which has been signed by Aditya Chopra. 

The first part of Brahmastra, produced by Prime Focus, Star Studios, and Ayan Mukerji, broke box office records and won over audiences worldwide.

In Brahmastra part one, Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo appearance, and Mouni Roy played the antagonist. Whereas Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were seen with phenomenal acting. The movie had a successful theatrical run. The Hindi version made an impressive net profit of slightly more than Rs 230 crore, and the dubbed version made an additional Rs 23.75 crore.
