There have been several discussions going on regarding the biopic of former Indian cricket team’s legendary batsman Sourav Ganguly. Now it has been revealed in media reports that Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen playing the role of former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. Dada’s biopic has been in the news for a long time.
According to the report of Peeping Moon, Ayushmann Khurrana has been signed for the film on the biopic of Sourav Ganguly. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet.
According to the report, a source related to the incident said that Ayushmann is also a left handed batsman like Ganguly, due to which he is fit for this role. The source further informed that the film will be officially announced soon.
However, Ayushmann was in discussions about the film since last year and he was the first choice of the producer of the film. The report further said that Ayushmann will soon start preparing for the film. However, he will have to undergo several months of rigorous cricket training before the shoot of the film.
Talking about Ganguly’s career, apart from being a batsman, he was also a good captain for India. However, under his captaincy, Team India could not win any ICC trophy.
The former player played international cricket for India between 1992 and 2008. Ganguly played 113 Tests and 311 ODI matches in his career.
Ganguly scored 7212 runs in 188 innings of Test at an average of 42.17. During this period, he scored 16 centuries and 35 half-centuries, in which his high score was 239 runs. Apart from this, while bowling in the Test, Ganguly took 32 wickets at an average of 52.53.
While batting in 300 innings of ODI, he scored 11363 runs at an average of 41.02. During this period, he scored 22 centuries and 72 half-centuries, in which his high score was 183 runs. Apart from this, while bowling, Dada took 100 wickets at an average of 38.49.
