Another Hindu Man Sh*t D*ad in Bangladesh Days After Dipu Chandra’s Lynching

A Bangladesh Hindu man shot dead by his colleague in Mymensingh has once again raised serious concerns over the safety of minorities in Bangladesh. The incident comes just days after Dipu Chandra Das was lynched by a mob in the same region, intensifying fears of recurring violence targeting Hindu community members.

The victim has been identified as Bajendra Biswas, a 40-year-old Ansar member deployed at Sultana Sweaters Limited factory in Bhaluka upazila. According to reports by news agency ANI citing RTV Online, the shooting occurred on Monday, December 29, at around 6.30 pm, leaving another Bangladesh Hindu man shot dead at his place of duty.

Police have arrested the accused, Noman Mia, who was also serving as an Ansar member at the same factory. Both men were reportedly on active duty when the incident took place.

Eyewitness APC Md Azahar Ali told local media that Bajendra Biswas and Noman Mia were sitting together in a room shortly before the shooting. Without any visible argument, Noman allegedly pointed a shotgun at Biswas’s thigh and asked, “Shall I shoot?” before firing. The accused then fled the scene. The witness stated that no prior dispute was observed before the Bangladesh Hindu man shot dead collapsed from his injuries.

The deceased was the son of Probitra Biswas, a resident of Kadirpur village under Sylhet Sadar upazila. The accused, Noman Mia, is the son of Lutfar Rahman from the Baluturi Bazar area under Taherpur Police Station in Sunamganj district.

Monindra Nath, acting secretary general of the Bangladesh Hindu Buddha Christian Unity Council, confirmed the killing to ANI, stating that the organisation had verified the details through local sources. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the shooting.

This killing follows the recent lynching of Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu man in his late 20s, also in Mymensingh. Minority groups argue that back-to-back incidents, including the Bangladesh Hindu man shot dead, reflect deeper security challenges and demand stricter accountability.
