Bawaal Movie: Israeli Embassy Slams the Makers for Mocking Jewish Sentiments

Bawaal starring Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawn fell prey to all the backlashes and criticisms for its metaphorical comparison of Auschwitz with the marital woes.

The climax of the film is shot In Auschwitz where Janhvi and Varun visit the Nazi death camp. They sympathize with the pain and sufferings that the Jews had to go through and Janhvi says that every marital relationship goes through its Auschwitz.

By sympathizing with the pain, they realised that life is too short to worry about petty things and through this they changed their outlook towards life.

This metaphorical comparison has offended many people globally who are not happy with the makers taking this genocide this lightly.

Rabbi Abraham Cooper of SWC has written a letter to Amazon Prime and urged them to take down the film. He said

“Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man’s capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that ‘Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz,’ Nitesh Tiwari, trivialises and demeans the memory of 6 milion murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler’s genocidal regime.”

Not even this, the Israeli embassy in India has taken to their official Twitter handle and expressed their concern over this.

Varun Dhawan came out in support of his film and said that people don’t have problem with Oppenheimer, a film that openly violated Hinduism and Bhagwat Geeta but they have a problem with Bawaal.

The Israeli Embassy and SWC also urged Indians and the makers to get their facts right and educate themselves regarding World War history.
