मेरा नाम विक्रम है और मैं सिरोही का रहने वाला हूँ पर मैं विक्रम सिरोही नहीं हूँ. पर ये कहानी है विक्रम सिरोही ही दिलेरी की , नक्सली विरोध की , राजनीति की, पैसे की भूख की ,दोस्ती की और हाँ ज़ॉम्बीज़ की। Red Chillies एंटरटेनमेंट की ज़बरदस्त पेशकश , ज़रूर देखे मतलब ज़रूर ज़रूर देखे अगर मुझे ये कहने के पैसे मिलते तो भी मैं नहीं कहता। यार बोल ही देते की ज़ी होर्रोर शो के भूत वापस आ चुके है। चलो एक एक करके बात करते है। अगर आपने GHOUL देखी तो आप समझ जाएगा डायरेक्टर पैट्रिक ग्रैहम का स्टोरी को प्रेजेंट करने का तरीका बेहतरीन है और पुराने भूतों को आज की दुनिया में लाने की उनकी अलग ही कोशिश रहती हैं। सो इस बार बात टनल की जहाँ ब्रिटिश सेना की पूरी रेजिमेंट उनके Colonel Lynedoch की साथ ज़िंदा ही दफना दिए गए. काले जादू के शौक़ीन कर्नल कैसे और ताक़तवर बनने के लिए ब्लैक मैजिक का इस्तमेला करते है और कैसे ये लड़ाई आये बढ़ती है , ये तो आप सीरीज देख कर ही जाने तो बेहतर है। वैसे Colonel Lynedoch का रोले प्ले किया है Richard Dillane ने जो The Dark Knight में थोड़ी देर के लिए commissioner रोल में दिखे थे.
अब जहाँ तक स्टोरी की बात है , स्टोरी ठीक है। जिस तरह से बढ़ती है ,वो भी ठीक है। पर dialogue राइटिंग बुरी है , और डायलाग डिलीवरी उससे भी बुरी. एक्टिंग फीस में से GST के अलावा ओवरएक्टिंग के भी पैसे काटे गए होने , ऐसा मुझे विश्वास है। गांववाला – गांववाला नहीं लगता , फाॅर्स का आदमी फाॅर्स का आदमी नहीं लगता , ज़ोंबी ज़ोम्बी नहीं लगता या कुल मिला के ये कहा जाए की पूरी सीरीज में कहीं दर जैसा दर नहीं लगता। पोस्टर से विक्की कौशल की उरी वाला फील आता है ,पर मूवी में फ़ोर्स के सभी लोग आपको निराश ही करेंगे। खैर विनीत सिंह ( विक्रम सिरोही ) और सायना आनंद (सान्वी ) ने बढ़िया एक्टिंग आपको देखने को मिलेगी, बाकि सब ने मिलके बड़ी औसत सी एक्टिंग की है। दरअसल करैक्टर और स्टोरी में कन्विक्शन किसी का भी नज़र नहीं आया.
लोकेशन , BGM और SFX ज़बरदस्त है। कुछ सीन्स आपको थ्रिल दे सकते है , लाल आखों वाले ब्रिटिश ज़ोंबी खूब हसाने वाले है। आग से डरने वाले ज़ॉम्बीज़ क्लाइमेक्स में पूरा आग के सेटअप बनाते है – कैसे पता नहीं। स्ट्रांग लैंग्वेज और 18+ रेटिंग के साथ पूरा न्याय किया गया है , गालियां कहीं भी डाली गयी है , हर बार यही लगा एक्टिंग में रियल फ़्रस्ट्रेशन निकल रहा है। गाली भी बकना नहीं आता , क्या मज़ाक चल रहा है। एक गोली जलियांवालां बाग़ के लिए , बस इस डायलाग ने दिल जीत लिया.
तो अब ये आपका फैसला की आपकी ये सीरीज देखनी है या नहीं , पर जाते जाते एक बात वो जिनको ये सीरीज अच्छी लगी और इसके अच्छे रिव्यु जो देते नहीं थक , ओवेरएक्टिंग का पैसा तो उनका भी काटना चाहिए.
lockdown में दोस्तों के साथ टाइमपास करने के लिए और खूब हसने के लिए ये सीरीज ज़रूर देखे.

Hi I am Vikram from Sirohi, and I am not Vikram Sirohi. But this story is of Vikram Sirohi’s courage, politics, friendship, and yes Zombies too. Did that make any sense to you? Anyways. Moving forward, ‘Betaal’ is Red Chilli Entertainment’s power-packed presentation, which you must watch, and leave no opportunity to bless your eyes, ears, heart, and mind. I really wish I could review this historic, mythological, and horror web series available on Netflix. Before starting the actual review of the series, we would like to show our concern for Netflix, because we feel its really sick nowadays.
Now before disappointing you we would like to know if you’ve watched ‘Ghoul’? And if the answer is yes, then you probably know about the way of presentation of old classic ghosts by director Patrick Graham. The content and generation are growing each day, but still, Patrick is busy introducing lame old ghosts to today’s audience. This time in the story, there is a tunnel where a complete regiment of the British Army with their Colonel Lynedoch was buried alive. Other than the basic idea of the plot, how the Carnal uses black magic tricks to become more powerful and fight is something you can watch in the series and try to understand. Because we didn’t find any logic to it. By the way, Colonel Lynedoch’s character is played by Richard Dillane who was seen as Commissioner in The Dark Knight.
Now coming forward to the story of Betaal, it is quite fine. But the dialogues written are a complete disappointment, and even worse is the dialogue delivery. In fact, we believe the actors should be charged for the amount of overacting they have done. Talking about the actors and their performance, here the villager doesn’t feel like a villager, the force man doesn’t feel like a force man, the zombie doesn’t look like a zombie, and what else do you expect? We can conclude there is nothing that feels like what it is trying to depict. While looking at the poster of Betaal don’t get fooled by the energy you’ll feel just like of Vicky Kaushal’s Uri, because in this series what all you get is no headshots but headache only. Anyways, Vineet Singh and Syna Anand have acted well that can be appreciated as compared to others whose acting looks like a forceful enactment. You will see no connection between characters, acting, and story, this is all we can warn you about.
Some plus points you can consider are the locations, background music, and SFX. There are some scenes which can make you feel thrilled and the red-eyed British Zombies will provide you packs of laughter. You might enjoy the story only if you don’t look for logic into it. Because the Zombies who are scared of fire in the whole story will be making a setup of fire during the climax. How? Even we don’t know. Also, the dialogues are written by adding abusive words forcefully where they aren’t even required. Why? Even we don’t know. Unfortunately, unlike other series, in this, there is a single dialogue that succeeded in winning the hearts of the audience, which was, “Ek Goli Jallianwala Bagh ke Naam”.
So, now it’s your sole decision if you want to watch it or not. But before concluding, we must say, the people who liked this and reviewing it positive are also the part of the over actors’ team.
Ignoring the not so scary horror story, you can enjoy watching this with your friends just to have a good time laughing together.
