Bhupinder Singh Hooda May Be The New Chief Of Haryana Congress

Since the defeat of the Congress party in Punjab, the high command has been alert in taking any decision in the other states. Learning a lesson from Punjab Assembly Elections, the party high command has now decided to make some major changes in its Haryana unit. As per the info, after the resignation of Kumari Selja from the Haryana Congress president post, former CM and Jaat stalwart Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been eyeing the post.

Though four other leaders are also in the race, as Bhupinder Singh Hooda is a prominent Jaat face and most experienced amongst all with a massive stronghold in the state, the party high command may give him the post of Haryana Congress chief.

With the resignation of Kumari Selja from the Haryana Congress chief post, the infighting in the party’s state unit has reached the party high command with former Haryana CM Bhupinder Hooda, a member of the G23 group, pushing his name for the state party chief post and a complete overhaul of the state unit.

The sources added that a decision on the change of state leadership may be taken anytime soon. Hooda, who has the intact support of a majority of the Congress MLAs in Haryana, has been demanding an overhaul in the state unit for a long time.

Recently, senior Haryana Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi met the Congress national president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi on Thursday, on the matter of change in leadership in the Haryana Congress.

As per the internal sources of the Congress party, for the new President of the Haryana unit, state in-charge Vivek Bansal has sent these four names to the party high command –

1. Bhupinder Singh Hooda

2. Randeep Singh Surjewala

3. Kuldeep Bishnoi

4. Kiran Choudhary

According to sources, Bishnoi can be given an important responsibility in the state unit. While he is seen as a contender to head the party in Haryana, he is more likely to replace Hooda as the Leader of the Opposition. Hooda is being tipped as the next Haryana Congress president in place of Kumari Selja, who had agreed to step down from her post in a recent meeting with Gandhi. This means Kuldeep Bishnoi may be the new leader of opposition in Haryana, with former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda as the new chief of the Haryana Congress Committee.
