
The countdown to one of the grandest celebrations of Punjabi cinema officially began today as Filmfare hosted a press conference for the upcoming Bhutani Filmfare Awards Punjabi 2025. The event, held in Chandigarh, was attended by notable personalities including actor Sargun Mehta, Ashwini Chatley (Director, Bhutani Group), Sanchit Chopra (Senior Vice President, EaseMyTrip), Abhishek Singh (Chairman & Managing Director, Force of Talent), and Jitesh Pillaai (Editor-in-Chief, Filmfare).

The conference commenced with a symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony, marking the official launch of the awards. In a special highlight, Sargun Mehta unveiled the coveted Filmfare ‘Black Lady’ trophy before an enthusiastic audience. Sharing her personal connection to the brand, Mehta spoke about her long-standing association with Filmfare, being introduced for years as a two-time award winner, and expressed her excitement about the upcoming edition. She also mentioned her deep emotional connection with her film Moh, calling it a project close to her heart.
This year’s awards night, set for August 23, 2025, at the I.S. Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali, promises a star-studded line-up of performances by Yo Yo Honey Singh, Neeru Bajwa, Jacqueline Fernandez, Maniesh Paul, and Soundarya Sharma. Speaking about the significance of the event, Rohit Gopakumar, Director of Worldwide Media and CEO of ZENL, BCCL TV & Digital Network, emphasized the cultural richness of Punjabi cinema, promising the biggest celebration yet.
