On September 29, Mr. Randhir went to pay obeisance at a pilgrimage in Uttarakhand, where, through his daughter-in-law’s phonecall, he came to know about his son and other 3 family members being kidnapped.

After getting the news, Mr. Randhir rushed back to Punjab and planned to immediately leave for the US, but unfortunately, nothing was in his hands. As per the media reports, the four were kidnapped from a shop near the 800 block of South Highway 59. Even the California Police warned that the kidnapper was armed. However, many details were not revealed about the suspect due to security purposes.

As per the information, Jasdeep Singh hailed from Harsi Pind village in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, where his parents Dr. Randhir Singh and Kirpal Kaur live. Moreover, this is the biggest tragedy in their lives now, an irreparable void. Reportedly, Jasdeep’s parents are retired employees, from education and health sectors.

Even in 2019, an Indian-origin techie was kidnapped in California, who was later found dead. Moreover, these cases are a matter of concern now for not only the authorities but the Indians living abroad.
