Big Breaking: Punjab Advocate-General Anmol Rattan Sidhu Resigns

Anmol Rattan Sidhu, the Advocate-General of Punjab, has resigned from his post. As per the media reports, Anmol Rattan has sent his resignation letter to chief minister Bhagwant Mann, citing some “personal reasons” for his resignation.

However, in his resignation, he thanked the party for giving him a chance to represent the office. He was appointed as the Advocate-General of Punjab in March this year, after the formation of the AAP government in the state. Now, after his resignation, senior advocate Vinod Ghai’s name is on the top of the list. 

Quoting his resignation in a tweet, Anmol wrote:

“Most humbly, submitting my resignation from the post of Advocate General of the State of Punjab. 

Thankful to Hon’ble the Chief Minister @BhagwantMann ji,  @ArvindKejriwal ji, @raghav_chadha ji and above all the people for this opportunity to serve the State”

Anmol Rattan Sidhu has served as the president of Punjab And Haryana High Court Bar Association for 5 times and also been the Chairperson of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana.

After gangster Bishnoi was identified as the mastermind behind the murder of Punjabi artist Sidhu Moose Wala on May 29, Anmol Rattan Sidhu played a crucial role in helping Punjab Police obtain the transit remand of the criminal from Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Mr. Sidhu’s resignation from the Advocate-General post, marks the second high-profile exit of an official from the Aam Aadmi Party government in the last four months, after VK Bhawra, the former police chief who resigned few days back.
