As per the information, during the protest carried out by the Shiv Sena leaders, a group of unidentified people fired shots at Suri. Reportedly, the area where this entire incident took place is residential. As per the media reports, Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was talking to a police officer when he was shot. Furthermore, the Bharatiya Janata Party, on the incident, slammed the AAP government of Punjab.

BJP leader Tajinder Singh Bagga, in a tweet, lashed out at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in response to the incident and said that law and order has collapsed in Punjab. “Law and order collapsed in Punjab, Shiv sena leader Sudhir Suri injured in firing in Amritsar,” said Tejinder Pal Singh in a tweet. However, the shooter, identified as Sandeep Singh, has been detained by the police.

Notably, Sudhir made news in July of this year when he was detained on the charges of hurting the religious sentiments of a specific community. Moreover, he was also accused of insulting a particular community with his language. Subsequently, the video went viral on social media.

However, after today’s incident, once again the law and order situation in Punjab has been questioned by the opposition. Though the exact reason behind this incident is yet to be discovered, Sudhir Suri’s death has once again questioned the law and order situation in Punjab. The opposition, especially the BJP, slammed the Bhagwant Mann government, claiming that the law and order has collapsed in the state.
