At the beginning of 2020 Punjabi cinema had new expectations and Filmmakers were also trying to bring to something New on the table, but because of global lockdown, major projects have suffered.
Parineeti Chopra was supposed to Debut in Punjabi cinema with big production house Fox Star India’s First Punjabi Production has been shelved. The film had a background of Bikaner and Cancer train which has not been explored in Punjabi cinema with a fresh star cast. Parineeti was to been seen as Punjabi girl opposite Jobanpreet who was last year seen with Mandy Takhar in Saak.
Filmmakers who were about to make big announcements are nowhere to be seen because of the pandemic. Even if the lockdown is lifted there are going to be lots of restrictions in shooting as well as release, so we aren’t expecting announcements of new projects anywhere before early 2021.

Being said, It would have been a great breakthrough for Punjabi cinema where actresses like Parineeti could have hit the screen with a new production house which has great film making experience, and Parineeti looks amazing as Punjaban we can forget her face in Kesari.
