Hosted by Salman Khan, Bigg Boss 20 premiered on September 6, with Panchayat actor Aasif Khan among the contestants entering the house. However, his participation has drawn attention after an old interview resurfaced, in which he had said he was not interested in joining the reality show. The actor’s change of stance has now become a talking point around Bigg Boss 20.
Aasif Khan Had Earlier Turned Down Bigg Boss
In a 2024 conversation with Hindi Rush, Aasif was asked whether he wanted to participate in Bigg Boss. He immediately replied, “Nahi” (No).
The actor revealed that he had already received an offer to join the show in 2022. After discussing it with a few close friends, he decided against accepting it.
Aasif also recalled watching the reality show for around a month. However, he eventually realised that it was not something he wanted to pursue.
“I realised that this isn’t my kind of thing,” he had said.
Why Aasif Khan Disliked The Show
Aasif explained that his biggest issue was what he described as “off-camera acting”. He said he often tells his friends that people should not act when the cameras are switched off.
The actor added that he had a “big allergy” to off-camera acting and felt that Bigg Boss did not suit his taste. His comments have now resurfaced after he became part of Bigg Boss 20.
Despite his earlier reservations, Aasif has now entered the house and says he wants viewers to see him beyond his popular Panchayat character. He has also spoken about wanting audiences to know him as Aasif rather than only as “Damaad Ji”.
Aasif Khan’s Acting Career
Aasif is best known for his roles in Panchayat, Mirzapur, Jamtara and Paatal Lok. He has also appeared in films including Pagglait, Pari, The Great Indian Family and The Bhootnii.
His entry gives Bigg Boss 20 a contestant whose earlier comments about the show are now being viewed in an entirely different context.
