In the world of reality television, winning a show does not always predict who will become a superstar. Nearly two decades after Fame Gurukul, Arijit Singh Supports Qazi Touqeer as his former co-contestant enters Bigg Boss 20.
Arijit Singh Cheers for Qazi
Arijit Singh recently shared a warm message for Qazi Touqeer on his private X account. He revealed that he would have to watch Bigg Boss for the first time because his “rockstar Qazi” is part of the show.
The message carries extra significance because the two singers once competed against each other on Fame Gurukul in 2005. Qazi eventually won the singing reality show, while Arijit finished sixth.
Despite the contrasting results, their competition did not damage their friendship. Years later, Arijit Singh Supports Qazi Touqeer with a public show of affection that has reminded fans of their unusual reality-TV journey.
Qazi Won, Arijit Became a Superstar
Qazi Touqeer explored different areas of entertainment after his Fame Gurukul victory, including acting and music. He also had an association with the popular song Afghan Jalebi from Phantom.
Arijit, meanwhile, followed a very different path. He went on to become one of India’s most successful playback singers, earning widespread recognition for his distinctive voice and emotional singing style.
Their careers show why reality-show rankings cannot always determine an artist’s long-term success. Qazi lifted the Fame Gurukul trophy, while Arijit’s later career turned him into a household name.
Now, with Qazi stepping into Bigg Boss 20, Arijit Singh Supports Qazi Touqeer once again, showing that their old competition never overshadowed their bond.
