BJP MP Nishikant Dubey: Parliament Won’t Function Until Sonia Gandhi Apologizes For Adhir Ranjan’s Remark On President

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the top leader of the Indian National Congress in the Lok Sabha, is again into controversy over his recent remark on President Draupadi Murmu. Though he clarified that it was a “slip of tongue” and that he would apologize to the President, the political tussle between the Congress and BJP has been continuously rising.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has been continuously lashing out at the Congress party, accusing Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury of hurling a deliberately sexist insult at Draupadi Murmu, the President of India. Despite Adhir Ranjan’s apology, the Saffron Party is demanding an apology from the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi on the matter.

Amidst the ongoing political battle, now the BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party won’t tolerate the insult of tribal community at any cost! Lok Sabha will function only after Congress president Sonia Gandhi apologizes. The Congress party has a history of misusing democracy and parliament.”

BJP MP Kiren Rijiju has also slammed Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. As tweeted by ANI on its official handle:

“It was not a slip of tongue. If you watch the clip, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury clearly (referred to President Murmu as) ‘Rashtrapati’ twice, then he corrected himself to say ‘Rashtrapatni.’ Such matters should not be taken lightly: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju”

“He is an anti-national and anti-tribal person. And how can he trivialise this issue by saying that he can go to the President and seek an apology? Is it that simple? It is condemnable: Union Minister Kiren Rijiju”

However, when asked yesterday about Adhir Ranjan’s remark, Sonia Gandhi stated, “Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has already apologized.” Meanwhile, the BJP has been demanding an official apology from Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.  Now BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s statement has cleared that this political war between the Congress and the BJP would continue.
