BJP Parliamentary Board Meeting In Delhi, BJP To Announce NDA’s Vice President Candidate

The parliamentary board of the Bharatiya Janata Party will be meeting today evening in the national capital to finalize the name of the NDA’s candidate for the Vice President post.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union HM Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, union minister Nitin Gadkari and all other senior party leaders will attend the meeting.

After this meeting, all the MPs of the BJP will also be meeting, ahead of the presidential polls scheduled to be held on July 18. As per the numbers, NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu is heading towards an easy victory, defeating the UPA candidate and former union finance minister Yashwant Sinha.

Meanwhile, the BJP parliamentary board will be finalising the name of the NDA’s candidate for the Vice President post, where former union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi’s name is at the top of the list. Since his resignation and recent tweets, it’s been speculated that the NDA would announce Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi as its candidate for the Vice President post.

In the current scenario, the Bharatiya Janata Party alone has 394 MPs, 4 more than the majority mark of 390 in the Parliament’s current strength of 780, including the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha MPs. The tenure of the current Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu is ending on August 10.

As per the numbers, the NDA is set to achieve an easy victory in both, the President and the Vice President polls.
