BJP’s Plan For Punjab: Captain-Jakhar Duo To Play Major Role, Big Developments Soon

The Bharatiya Janata Party is planning to expand itself in the border state of Punjab. As it’s already clear now that Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Congress is set to merge in the BJP, once again the successful political duo of Captain Amarinder and Sunil Jakhar will be seen working together in Punjab, but this time for the Saffron Party.

As per the news, even the Congress MP and Captain Amarinder Singh’s wife Parneet Kaur will be joining the BJP soon after the merger of the PLC in the saffron party. The BJP itself never had a strong base in the state, but with the rebels from the other parties, especially the INC, the BJP is planning to expand itself in Punjab.

Captain Amarinder Singh and Sunil Jakhar, this duo became successful for the Congress party, due to which the INC not only won the 2017 assembly elections but even achieved exemplary results in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Punjab despite the heavy Modi-wave across the country.

Now this duo will work for the BJP in Punjab. Recently, four heavyweight leaders and former INC ministers Shyam Sunder Arora, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Rajkumar Verka and Balbir Singh Sidhu joined the BJP. It’s expected that soon, more leaders may jump the ship. The Captain-Jakhar duo is planning to induct its close aides from the Congress party to the BJP.

This will definitely create a challenge for the Congress party in Punjab. Though how the voters will react is still a big question. Because, even when Capt Amarinder Singh allied with the BJP and many big leaders like Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi joined the BJP, they all lost. There’s still an anger against the BJP in Punjab due to the farm laws. But the leaders who are joining BJP, have a strong votebase in their areas, which would benefit the party.
