The Farmers’ Protest is gaining more and more attention. After the entire Punjabi Industry joined hands to support the farmers, now Bollywood is also taking the steps forward to support them. We feel Gippy Grewal’s tweet has worked well, in which he raised questions on Bollywood.
Now, Preity Zinta and a few other actors have taken the initiative and released their opinion on the trending Farmers’ Protest.
Priyanka Chopra retweeted a tweet by Diljit Dosanjh. In her retweet PeeCee wrote,
“Our farmers are India’s Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crises is resolved sooner than later.”
On the other hand, Chopra’s sister Parineeti also shared a beautiful quote, saying;
“Had your Dinner?
Thank a Farmer”
To keep the list going, Sonam Kapoor and her husband Anand Ahuja also shared their stand for the farmers.
Sharing a quote by Daniel Webster, Sonam captioned the picture of protesting farmers in her Instagram post as,
“When tillage begins, other arts follow. The farmers, therefore, are the founders of human civilization.”
And her husband Anand Ahuja dropped a long message in the caption to the same picture shared by wife Sonam Kapoor.
“The idea behind “free market” / letting farmers sell directly (not via middlemen) is in itself understandable .. but in striving for a more efficient process we MUST address the fears of the farmers – (1) Is there a mechanism which can provide the safety net that a minimum price guarantee provides? (2) How do we police private enterprises from ‘strong-arming’ farmers into unfavorable scenarios? And what actions – legal or otherwise – can farmers take to report such situations? (3) What are the checks and balances that prevent monopolistic practices and/or corruption from poisoning the system and jeopardizing the livelihoods of the farmers who are the heart of our nation!?… Only once these – amongst various other – concerns are addressed should any changes be implemented.”
Actress Archana Puran Singh shared black post on her Instagram in support of the Farmers with caption #kisaan.
Other than these, Preity Zinta also had a take on the protest. In her tweet she called the Farmers; ‘Soldiers of Soil’, which won our hearts.
