Brahmastra: Awaited Song ‘Kesariya’ Turns Out To be Copied From THESE Popular Songs?

The makers of Brahmastra had released the teaser of its romantic track- Kesariya ahead of Ranbir-Alia wedding in April. The song grabbed everyone’s attention and made us all crave to listen to the full song as soon as possible.

Netizens on social media demanded the release of the romantic Arijit track and everyone all around was seriously wooed with the song. And now as the song is finally out, its feels like we all waited for it for more than two months just to be left disappointed.

The song is sung by the fan-favorite and much loved singer Arijit Singh who has shined in this one also. On the other hand it is composed by Pritam and filmed on the ravishing chemistry of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt

As soon as the song dropped on YouTube, it turned out to be too low as compared to the high expectations. Not only the weird fit of ‘Lovestoriyan’ in the song’s lyrics gave us wtf moments throughout the songs, but also the entire song failed to live upto the popular and loved hook of it.

And now, the fans and netizens are disappointed for another reason. It looks like the song ‘Kesariya’ is copied from two very popular melodies. People are slamming Pritam for lacking creativity and copying tunes.

The first song that sounds similar to Kesariya is the very popular Punjabi folk song by Wadali brothers; Lakhwinder Wadali & Pooranchand Wadali. The song is Charkha, and its part ‘Ve Mahiya Tere Vekhan Nu, Chuk Charkha Gali De Vich Daavan’ sounds very similar to Kesariya’s ‘Kesariya Tera Ishq Hai Piya, Rang Jaaun Jo Main Haath Lagaun’.

And this is not all, as there is another song that seems to have inspired Priyam strongly. This song belongs to the 2007 Bollywood movie Ek Chalis Ki Last Local, Laree Choote. The chorus of this song is not similar but is noticeably exactly like Kesariya.

The makers of the song have not released any statement related to the allegations of copying melodies.
