Explained: PVR & INOX Suffer 800Cr Loss Due To Brahmastra Part 1 Shiva!

After a five-year wait, the fantasy action movie Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead has been finally released in theatres. Moreover, the movie is anticipated to draw crowds to theatres and revive the box office, which was decimated by some recent Bollywood movies, more after the boycott trend.

Recently, many Bollywood films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, Liger, and Dhaakad faced a massive jolt. Though, for Brahmastra, a lot of industry insiders predicted that the movie will perform well at the box office. However, the recent reports depict a different story.

As claimed in various media reports, Brahmastra is suing PVR and Inox investors alongside itself. Moreover, the initial reviews viral online, seems to be have an impact on the box office performance of the movies. Reportedly, the movie’s commercial prospects are suffering due to significant losses through which the theatre chains have been suffering.

As per the reports, the two biggest theatre chains in India – PVR and Inox, have collectively lost more than ₹800 crores today itself. Surprisingly, this occurs at a time when the Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra received mixed reviews on its debut. While some viewers praised the movie for its visual effects, the others criticised the movie. 

Apart from Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, some od the biggest superstars, including the Bollywood king Amitabh Bachchan, Tollywood star Nagarjuna, and even Shah Rukh Khan have made a small appearance in the movie. However, it will be interesting to see how it performs in the coming days. Moreover, it’s speculated that Deepika Padukone would also be seen in the second part of Brahmastra.
