By-election LIVE: Big Jolt To BJP! “Shotgun” Leads With 3 Lakh From Asansol, RJD In Bihar, Cong Wins In 2 States

kshatrughn Sinha, the former BJP and then Congress leader who recently joined the Trinamool Congress, has contested from Asansol Loksabha seat in the by-election. As per the Election Commission of India, Shatrughan Sinha aka “Shotgun” is leading with around 2,96,000 votes, defeating the BJP’s Agnimitra Paul.

Shotgun leading towards the victory with such a huge margin, is a big jolt to BJP. Talking about his political career, he was a member of BJP and Loksabha MP from Patna, Bihar, in 2014. Later on he left the BJP and contested on Congress ticket from the same constituency but lost to ex-union minister Ravishankar Prasad.

Recently he joined the TMC, and now Kshatrughn Sinha is leading from the Asansol Loksabha constituency with more than 3,03,000 votes over the BJP candidate Agnimitra Paul.

While in Bihar, the RJD candidate Amar Kumar Paswan has won with a huge margin of 36,653 votes over the BJP candidate Baby Kumari from Bochahan assembly constituency. As this seat was won by the NDA in 2020, it’s seen as a major jolt to  the JDU-BJP alliance in the state.

Similarly in Kolhapur North assembly constituency of Maharashtra, Jayshree Chandrakant Jadhav has won with a big margin of 19,307 votes over the BJP candidate, and in Chhattisgarh too, Yashoda Verma of the Congress party has won with a decisive margin of more than 20,000 votes over the BJP candidate.

Meanwhile, in Ballygunge assembly constituency, West Bengal, former union minister and ex-BJP leader Babul Supriyo who recently joined the Trinamool Congress, has won with a huge margin of 20,228 votes over the CPI(M) candidate here.

With Babul Supriyo’s victory from Ballygunge assembly and “Shotgun” leading with over 3,03,000 votes in Asansol Loksabha By-poll, the TMC has once again given a big jolt to BJP in West Bengal.
