Canadian Rapper Drake Bets on RCB to Win IPL Final, Fans Go Crazy

Canadian rapper Drake has turned heads once again—this time in the cricket world. Just hours before the much-anticipated IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), Drake placed a jaw-dropping bet of $750,000 (around ₹6.41 crore) on RCB to win their first-ever IPL title.

Drake shared the news on Instagram, posting a screenshot from the crypto-betting platform Stake. Along with the image, he included RCB’s popular slogan: “Ee Sala Cup Namde”, which has long been a rallying cry for the team’s fans. The post left many of his followers—especially those in North America, where cricket is still a niche sport—surprised and intrigued.

With odds of 1.75, the Grammy-winning artist could walk away with more than $1.3 million (approx. ₹11.11 crore) if RCB pulls off a win.

RCB, currently led by Rajat Patidar, are still chasing that elusive IPL trophy since the tournament began in 2008. They’re up against a hungry Punjab Kings squad led by Shreyas Iyer, who are also eyeing their maiden title. This year’s final is particularly exciting as it guarantees a new champion for the first time in three seasons.

RCB secured their spot in the final after a dominant win over PBKS in Qualifier 1, while Punjab made it through with a thrilling chase against Mumbai Indians. So far, the two teams have an even head-to-head record, with 18 wins each from their 36 encounters.

All eyes will also be on Virat Kohli, who has been in phenomenal form this season, scoring over 600 runs. But Shreyas Iyer, who’s also been in top touch, could pose a serious challenge.

With Drake’s high-stakes bet adding even more excitement to the mix, tonight’s showdown at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium promises to be a blockbuster. Whether it’s for the cricket, the drama, or the massive bets—this is a final the world will be watching closely.
