CCTV Footage Reveals IAF Officer Initiated Bengaluru Road Rage Incident, Faces Serious Charges

In a recent road rage incident in Bengaluru, Wing Commander Sheeladitya Bose of the Indian Air Force is under scrutiny after CCTV footage surfaced, suggesting he initiated a physical altercation with a biker. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Monday when Bose and his wife, Squadron Leader Madhumita Dutta, both DRDO officers, were en route to Kempegowda International Airport.

According to police reports, the altercation began when Dutta accidentally hit a biker, Vikas Kumar, while opening the car door. An argument ensued, escalating into a physical confrontation. Initial claims by Bose alleged that Kumar was aggressive and abusive, but newly released CCTV footage contradicts this, showing Bose as the aggressor. In the footage, Bose is seen confronting and physically assaulting Kumar, despite Dutta’s attempts to intervene.

Following the incident, Bose shared a video on social media displaying injuries and alleging verbal abuse in Kannada. However, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Devaraj D clarified that the incident was a case of road rage, not related to language issues. He stated, “This is not a language-related issue. The altercation began when Bose’s wife questioned the biker for coming from the wrong side. It escalated into a scuffle.”

Based on the evidence, the Byappanahalli police have registered an FIR against Bose under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including attempt to commit an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for life, culpable homicide not amounting to murder, and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. Bose is currently in Kolkata, and police are expected to summon him for questioning.
