In the time when Punjabi music is Rockin everywhere, Punjabi cinema is facing such a bad phase. No doubt, Pollywood is releasing a number of good budget feature films, but there is definitely something wrong since their response is below expected. Here is the list of actors, who have miserably disappointed us lately.
Roshan Prince
Starting the list with the Prince Charming of the Punjabi Industry, Roshan Prince. He is one of the singers who were able to win hearts on screen, but it has been a quite long time, he has not tasted a superhit. Last year, his Munda Faridkotia & Nanka Mel failed on screen, and even his latest release Ik Sandhu Hunda Si, was not a great success.But who says its all? His two more films, Boo! Main Darr Gyi & Beautiful Billo are still in the queue, waiting for their release, maybe this year. Let us wish some good luck for Roshan Prince this time.
Gippy Grewal
Following Roshan Prince, here is the proud owner of Humble Motion Pictures, Gippy Grewal next in the list. His regular flops included Manje Bistre 2 and Chandigarh Amritsar Chandigarh. And to extend the list there is Ik Sandhu Hunda Si. Despite being a great talk of the town, this film has disappointed the fans badly. But since Gippy is more focused on films right now, he will be seen on screen in many more films. After all, production has its own benefits.
Mandy Takhar
Winner of most prominent & Popular face, Mandy Takhar has slowly become outdated in Punjabi Cinema. The chirpy actress who’s presence and acting was admired by the audience is now usually questioned after the box office failure of Lukan Michi, Saak, and Band Waje. No doubt she is trying to spread her wings in Bollywood & Tollywood too, but they say, it’s a bad idea to sail in two boats. But, still, we have our eyes on her because she will be seen sharing screens with Ammy Virk in Challe Mundiyan, Dilpreet Dhillon in Mera Viah Karwa Do, and Ninja in Zindagi Zindabad.
Parmish Verma
The much-loved style icon of youth, Parmish Verma is on the list too. It’s sad to have his name here because his popularity has always spoken volumes. Parmish started with video direction and small screen presence in his videos but, he took no time to hit the screens completely. But we know, when it comes to big screens, quality matters more than style. Maybe that’s why he has not been able to fascinate the fans of Punjabi Cinema.
Well! His excitement won’t rest, and he will be back on screens soon, but this time we expect him to be a little more impressive.
Rubina Bajwa
Talking about Pollywood, Bajwa sisters has peen the pop up since forever. But we never expected any of them to be a part of this list. But Rubina Bajwa not only disappointed many opportunities given by sister Neeru Bajwa but the expectations of the audience as well. Since our Punjabi film industry is lacking in female actresses, maybe that’s why she is fortunate enough to get more projects.
We will see her soon in her upcoming movies, including, Beautiful Billo with Roshan Prince & Teri Meri Gal Ban Gyi with Akhil.
Nav Bajwa
Nav Bajwa, the actor, director, writer, director, and what not of Punjabi Industry is next in this list. Though he has been a part of this industry for years, he still has failed in marking his presence. Talking about his recent direction & release, Kitty Party, which had, great star cast, including Gurpreet Ghuggi, Kainaat Arora, and himself was a flop too. But this man isn’t accepting fate and stopping here. He is working on some new projects with new producers, we only hope the producers don’t lose their money this time.
Harish Verma
Harish, despite bringing a great, popular & loved actor is experiencing flops, definitely because of his bad choices. His first song(ik vaari hor soch lae) in the industry was a great hit and still tops the favorites of people, but when it comes to films, he is a bit off track nowadays.
Some of his films like Nadhoo Khan and Munda Hi Chahida could not make it to the box office, but we wish him luck for his upcoming project, Yaar Anmulle Returns.
Ninja
After the flop of High-End Yaariyan and Doorbeen, his film, Ardab Mutiyaran was a hit o Box Office, where Sonam stole the show, and he was unfortunate enough to get no credits for the same. Our hopes are still alive, we wish he presents some amazing project soon on screens.
Rajvir Jawanda
The handsome & charming Rajvir Jawanda has great looks but received a thumbs down for his acting and films. His instant hit track, Kangani provided him with opportunities like Jind Jaan and Mindo Taaeeldarni, but both were a disaster at the box office. Not everywhere looks and opportunities repeat their fortune, because his next project, Yamka is on hold, due to his previous flops.
