Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and actor-choreographer Dhanashree Verma are on the verge of finalizing their divorce, with the Bombay High Court instructing the family court to make a decision on their petition by March 20. The court considered Chahal’s upcoming IPL 2025 commitments while expediting the process.
The couple, who have been living separately for over two and a half years, have cited “compatibility issues” as the primary reason for their separation. Seeking to move forward without further delay, they requested an exemption from the mandatory six-month waiting period under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act, which is usually required in mutual consent divorces.
As part of their settlement, Chahal has agreed to pay ₹4.75 crore as alimony to Dhanashree. The financial aspects of the separation have been resolved smoothly, with both parties reaching a mutual understanding. The cricketer, who was recently signed by Punjab Kings for ₹18 crore, ensured that all financial obligations were settled amicably.
The couple, once admired for their chemistry on social media, have now chosen to take different paths in life. While Chahal gears up for his IPL stint, Dhanashree is expected to continue her journey in the entertainment industry. Their separation marks the end of a significant chapter, but both seem focused on moving forward with their respective careers and lives.
