Charanjit Singh Channi’s Cousin Jaswinder Singh Dhaliwal Joins BJP Ahead Of Punjab’s Election

Ahead of Punjab Assembly Polls, a breaking news has been hitting the headlines. As per the news reports of NDTV, Punjab’s Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi’s cousin Jaswinder Singh Dhaliwal joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in Chandigarh. Jaswinder joined the party on Tuesday, 11 January 2022.

Charanjit Singh Channi took oath on 20 September as the 16th Chief Minister of Punjab, in the presence of Governor Banwarilal Purohit at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh. The development comes after former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on September 24 submitted his resignation along with that of his Council of Ministers, to the state Governor Banwarilal Purohit.

Meanwhile, as the state elections come close, a lot of political jiggling is taking place from one party to another. Earlier, in December 2021, several leaders from Punjab including former MLA Arvind Khanna, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Gurdeep Singh Gosha, and former Amritsar councilor Dharamveer Sarin joined the BJP on Tuesday in the presence of Union Ministers Hardeep Singh Puri and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat at the party office in the national capital.

Now, shedding the lights towards the  Assembly polls in Punjab. These are scheduled to take place in a single phase on February 14, with the counting of votes scheduled for March 10.
