Punjabi movie Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya was the most anticipated one in 2022. This film has been released finally and has started entertaining all the Amrinder Gill fans. We have watched it, and penned this honest and in-detail Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya movie review for you.

The film stars Amrinder Gill in the leading role and actors like Karamjit Anmol, Binnu Dhillon, Sargun Mehta, Raj Kakra, Amrit Waraich, Harinder Sing, Bikram Brar, and more in supporting and pivotal roles. This has marked the directorial debut of Amrinder Gill, hence it is already a bit more special for us. So did he excel in the new field? Well, you’ll know all about the film after reading this Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya movie review.

Story

The story of Challa Mud Ke Nahi Aaya was already revealed to be based on true events. This film is an initiative to portray the struggles of Punjabi migrants who left their homes and nations to earn better in foreign countries.

In this film also, is a period drama based on the life of Chhalla. Chhalla, played by Amrinder Gill, decides to fly to Canada in search of work and a means of earning well. There he meets more people, who are just like him, and develops a bond with them. He then struggles to work, earn equal pay as white labourers, and also faces harassment and discrimination. And meanwhile, a beautiful blooming love story between Chhalla and Bella (Sydney Eberwein) will keep you smiling.

But guess what? Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya has something similar to Angrej and that is a love triangle. Yes, Sargun Mehta as expected is another charm in the film who will be seen in a short but impactful role opposite Amrinder Gill. We wish we could reveal more about this love triangle, but as we always, we keep our reviews spoiler free.

Acting & Performances

At the very beginning of writing this Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya movie review, we had mentioned the names of amazing actors who have graced this film. Amrinder Gill, Binnu Dhillon and Karamjit Anmol are three names whose acting skills need no justification.

While Amrinder Gill played the lead role in this film, Binnu Dhillon played his best buddy and Karamjit Anmol played a character that met Chhalla on his journey to Canada.

Amrinder Gill as usual was the show stealer and won our hearts with his screen presence. On the other hand, we are more than satisfied with the casting of each and every actor in this film. Be it any role with more screen space or actors who played minor roles, everyone was a perfect fit and amazing on screens.

We also need to mention the acting and spoken Punjabi skills of international actor Sydney Eberwein. She in the role of Bella was extremely beautiful and simply adorable. Her chemistry with Amrinder Gill was mushy and gave us aww moments.

Music & Dialogues

If you have watched the film already. you’ll agree with the fact that the music of Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya is a blissful treat for everyone. And Lowkey is the man behind this excellence. Not one or two, but every song in this movie turned out to be heartwarming. Not only this, but we also appreciate the perfect placement of the songs as they made the film more connecting and relatable.

The songs of this film are penned by Raj Kakra, Bir Singh and Hardeep Singh Maan who all are ace lyricists and masters of emotional writing. And not only the songs, but the background score of the film was also very impactful and deserves an applause.

Coming to the dialogues, we already knew the dialogues of Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya are going to be hard-hitting. And the reason behind this is the film’s trailer which included some really outstanding dialogues from the film.

Writing & Direction

Kiddaan’s Chhalla Mud Ke Nahi Aaya movie review is now heading to the writing and direction department of the film. The story of this film is written by Amberdeep Singh, while Amrinder Gill directed this. We have seen this duo do wonders together in various movies like Angrej and Love Punjab, but this is the first time that Amrinder Gill has himself directed a project.

The story of this film is based on the struggles of Punjabi migrants and has all the elements to connect with us. No doubt we loved and enjoyed watching this film, but we felt at some points the film was losing its hold. The screenplay and direction were a little messed up, which made us uncomfortable in keeping up. Also, the film ends on a happy note with some questions which are left unanswered.
