“Congress Mentality”: Sidhu Moose Wala’s Scapegoat Goes Unwell With AAP MLAs

Renowned Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s new song has created a new controversy. In his new song named ‘Scapegoat’, he has indirectly referred to the ruling party as “gaddar”, with these lyrics:

“Kinne dindi chunni sarkar daaso kaun

Hun mainu loko oye gaddar daso kaun

Jit gaya kaun gaya haar dasso kaun

Hun mainu loko oye gaddar dasso kaun”

He has allegedly targeted the supporters of Aam Aadmi Party, calling them “gaddar” (traitors).

In the recent assembly elections, Sidhu Moose Wala aka Shubhadeep Singh Sidhu contested as a Congress candidate from Mansa assembly constituency, but lost by a huge margin of more than 63,000 votes to AAP candidate Vijay Single, who is now the Health minister in the AAP govt. Though Mann has said that he is not the only one to have lost the polls, the recent remarks made by him in his new song has somewhere highlighted his frustration over his defeat from Mansa.

As per the lyrics of Sidhu Moose Wala’s new song, Deep Sidhu, Bibi Khalra and Simranjit Singh Mann were all betrayed.

While Minister Harjot Singh Bains has slammed Moose Wala over this, asking him to be humble in defeat.  He tweeted:

“But you have lost your mind to arrogance”.

MLA Dinesh Chaddha has also attacked Moose Wala in his tweet, saying:

“Sidhu seemed to have lost his mind, and for mere power was calling Punjabis as traitors”.

Meanwhile Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy has tweeted that Sidhu Moosewala has insulted the people of Punjab in his song.

And even the AAP MLA Jeevan Jyot Kaur (the one who defeated the Congress candidate and ex-PPCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu as well as senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia from Amritsar East constituency in the recent assembly elections) has also slammed Sidhu Moose Wala by tweeting:

“Punjabis are neither traitors nor hypocrites

@SidhuMoosevwala. We have a rich history and we always stand for justice and truth. Mind your words.”

Since the release of the new song where Sidhu Moose Wala has referred to the AAP supporters and voters as “gaddar” (traitors), a lot of politicians and MLAs have slammed him for the controversial remarks.
