The headline must have already given you the big hint that the iconic character of ‘Daya Ben’ is finally all set to make its comeback in TMKOC.
While the show was already in the spotlight after the news of Shailesh Lodha’s decision to quit the show went viral. After that, the death rumors of Mandar Chandawadkar who plays the popular role of ‘Atmaram Tukaram Bhide’ were also doing rounds on social media. Though no confirmation on the quitting of Shailesh is there, Mandar shared a video on his Instagram account to assure fans that he is healthy and fine.
And amid all this hoax, it looks like the TMKOC fans have finally got good news. As per ETimes, the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi has opened up about Daya Ben’s character and also talked about the exit of Shailesh Lodha.

Asit said, “We have no reason to not get back Daya Ben’s character. But we all have faced difficult times in the recent past. 2020-21 was a very tough phase for all of us. But now that things have got better, in 2022 koi bhi acche samay par we are going to bring back the character of Daya Ben and audience’s will once again get to see the entertainment of Jethalal and Daya Bhabhi.”
Though he did not confirm if Disha Vakani will reprise Daya Ben once again or if a new actress will carry on with the character. He said, “I don’t know yet if Disha Vakani will be back as Daya Ben. We still have a very good relation with Disha ji, we are like a family. But now she is married and has a kid and everyone gets busy with their own responsibilities. We all have our personal life, so I won’t be able to comment on that. Lekin joh bhi Disha Ben or Nisha Ben but you will surely get to Daya Ben and we as a team will try our best to give the same entertainment that we gave you before.”

Talking about the much talked about exit of Shailesh Lodha aka Taarak Mehta from the show, Asit Modi stated, “All my actors have been working for more than 10 years now. I have not been informed or I am not aware that Shailesh wants to quit the show. If there is any development, I will surely speak about it. As of now, I am focussing on how we can make the show more entertaining for the viewers.”
The news has gone viral and with crossed fingers, TMKOC fans are wishing to soon see the comeback of Daya Ben in the show. And meanwhile, all of us are also wishing Disha Vakani to portray the iconic role once again, as no one else can-do justice to it better than her.
