Delhi Court Hits Pause, No Immediate Notice to Gandhis in National Herald Matter

In a significant development in the ongoing National Herald case, a Delhi court has chosen not to immediately issue notices to Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The decision came during a recent hearing where BJP leader Subramanian Swamy sought fresh directions in the matter.

Swamy, who filed the case alleging financial irregularities in the acquisition of Associated Journals Ltd. by Young Indian Pvt. Ltd., requested that the court issue notices to the Gandhis and others involved. However, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Vidhi Gupta Anand decided to hold off for now.

The court stated that it needs to review the application and relevant documents in detail before taking the next step. It has scheduled the matter for further consideration on May 10.

Swamy had argued that key accused, including Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, should be summoned once again and the scope of the inquiry expanded. But the court maintained a cautious stance, saying it will examine all aspects before deciding on any further notice.

While this moment may seem like a breather for the Congress leadership, the case remains active, and the courtroom drama is far from over. The National Herald case, long a political flashpoint, continues to resurface in headlines as legal proceedings evolve.
