Delhi Man Arrested for Extortion Threats Demanding Rs 13 Crore from YouTuber Over Property

A 25-year-old man has been taken into custody for allegedly trying to extort Rs 13 crore from a Delhi-based YouTuber, according to police officials on Friday.

The incident came to light after the 24-year-old content creator reported receiving several threatening calls on April 9 while he was in Sector-1, Bawana. A senior police officer stated that the calls were made from an unidentified number.

In his complaint, the YouTuber alleged that the caller—later identified as Vishal, also known as Katia—issued threats to kill him if he failed to comply with the extortion demand.

The police further revealed that Vishal claimed to have knowledge about a property inheritance linked to the YouTuber’s wife. He specifically referred to her share of land, allegedly valued at several crores.

“In the fifth call, the caller became aggressive and threatened the complainant with dire consequences if he did not pay Rs 13 crore,” they said.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, a case was registered at the Bawana Police Station. Vishal was tracked and arrested near Nirmal Vatika in Bawana within 24 hours.

Authorities confirmed that the accused, a resident of Bawana, has a prior criminal record. The mobile phone used for making the extortion calls was also recovered from his possession.
