Delhi Man Arrested In Mohali for Impersonating Amritsar MP’s Legal Advisor

Kharar police have registered a case against a Delhi resident for impersonating as the legal advisor of Amritsar Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla. The incident took place on Monday evening when the accused, who runs an NGO in Delhi, was caught drinking in a public area in Sunny Enclave, Kharar. He was traveling with three others in a white Ford Endeavour bearing a Haryana registration (HR-26-ED-0322). The vehicle was marked with a red Member of Parliament sticker on the bonnet and featured an Insignia flag, which the police believe was used to mislead others about his identity.

A police team, led by ASI Jaswinder Singh, confronted the accused and asked him to identify himself. The man falsely claimed to be the legal advisor of Gurjeet Singh Aujla. However, when the police cross-checked with Aujla, the MP denied any association with the individual. This prompted Aujla to file a formal complaint, stating that the accused had misused his name and caused harm to his reputation by making false claims.

Based on Aujla’s complaint, Kharar police have filed a case of impersonation against the accused. The police are now working to trace the individual, who is believed to have defamed the MP’s name. A police officer confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend the accused, stating, “We have registered the case and will soon locate him.”
