In Bihar’s Munger, an 18-year-old girl inflicted injuries on herself by slitting her wrist with a blade after her request for an iPhone worth ₹1.5 lakh was denied.
As per a report by ‘India Today’, the girl had been insisting on the phone for three months, stating that she needed it to communicate with her partner, who owns the same device.
“I need an Apple phone. I don’t have any other problems, I have just a phone problem,” she told the media following the incident.
Frustrated over her family’s refusal, primarily due to financial constraints, the girl locked herself in a room and harmed herself with a blade. She was later taken to a hospital for treatment.
Currently undergoing medical care, the girl has assured that she will not resort to such an act again.
Her mother reiterated their family’s financial struggles, emphasizing their inability to afford such a costly phone.
Doctors attending to her confirmed that while the injuries are not deep, they are ensuring proper treatment to prevent any complications. Her condition is stable and not life-threatening.
