Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati Tour Fuels $112 Million Economic Boost Across North America

Diljit Dosanjh’s 2024 concert tour across 13 cities in the U.S. and Canada had a significant economic impact, generating $112 million in gross economic activity, according to a report by Oxford Economics. Around 245,000 attendees were a part of the tour including 107,000 out-of-town visitors that contributed $13 million in tax revenue while supporting 5,300 jobs.  

Fans spent a total of $63 million during the tour, with non-local visitors accounting for $37 million of that amount. Expenditures included $11.2 million on lodging, $15.2 million on recreation (including ticket purchases), and $4.9 million on food and beverages. Local economies experienced substantial boosts, particularly in the entertainment, lodging, and retail sectors.  

Cities such as Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles saw increased business activity as fans traveled from across North America. The entertainment and recreation sectors alone recorded $36.8 million in sales, while lodging services brought in $12.5 million.  

The tour highlighted the economic potential of large-scale concerts, with Diljit Dosanjh’s performances serving as key drivers for local businesses. These events not only thrilled fans but also left a lasting positive impact on the economies of the host cities.

Diljit’s Dil-Luminati tour has solidified his status as a global icon, setting new benchmarks for Indian artists in the worldwide arenas.
