Diljit Dosanjh’s film Punjab ’95 to Have a World Premiere at TIFF

Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh has revealed the first poster of his upcoming and much awaited film Punjab ’95. Apart from Diljit Dosanjh, bollywood hunk Arjun Rampal and Suvinder Pal Singh will also be playing the lead roles. 

Directed by Honey Trehan, this film is based on the true events and the compelling story based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra ji. Punjab ’95 will have a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. 

The film is jointly produced by Honey Trehan, Ronnie Screwvala and Abhishek Chaubey. 

Jaswant Singh Khalra was a Sikh human rights activist who researched on the 25000 illegal killings involving the Punjab Police. 

Earlier the censor board did a very scrutinized review of the film and suggested changes to 21 scenes including the depiction and dialogues. The board also asked the makers to change the title of the film. 

As per Pinkvilla, a source closer to the makers revealed that “It will be first screened for the audience at TIFF in September, and an official announcement on it will be made soon. The makers are excited to take their film to a prestigious festival like TIFF, and most likely the premiere date will be September 11. Furthermore, the film has also been retitled to Punjab ’95, and an official announcement of that too will be made in a few days”. 

Diljit Dosanjh is the first sikh to perform at Coachella and indeed he sold out all the tickets. 

On the other hand, Arjun Rampal has been recently blessed with a beautiful baby boy as he shared the good news with all his fans on Instagram.
