Diljit Dosanjh’s film that documented the Punjabi struggle during World War I, Sajjan Singh Rangroot which was released in 2018 made history. As Sajjan Singh Rangroot was the first Punjabi movie that was released in Russia. 

It was dubbed in Russian to be able to cater to the needs of a wider audience. What was even bigger news was the fact that the film was released in Russia on the same day it received a theatrical release in India. The distribution for the film was done by Omjee Group which is one of the biggest Punjabi film distributors in India.

Few years back, he shared the news and poster which was translated into Russian language. The news has received a lot of appreciation and love from the fans. It was a proud moment for the whole Punjabi community.
